Tax-included price calculator for Etsy sellers
Once you add your GST/HST number to Etsy, Etsy stops adding the tax at checkout. Your listing price has to include it. Enter a price before tax to see what the tax-included price comes to in each province.

How this was worked out: $25.00 × 13% = $3.25 of tax, rounded to the nearest cent. $25.00 + $3.25 = $28.25.
Why the province matters
When you mail or courier an order, the GST/HST rate is set by where it's delivered, not where you live. A $25.00 item shipped to Ontario carries 13% HST. The same item shipped to Alberta carries 5% GST.
One listing price, different tax
Etsy shows every buyer the same listing price. So if your price includes tax, the tax inside it depends on where each order ships. What you keep changes with it. To see the tax inside a tax-included sale, use the back-out calculator.
Orders shipped outside Canada
Goods you mail or courier to an address outside Canada are generally zero-rated, which means 0% GST/HST. Keep your shipping records as proof the order left the country.
Not registered?
If you haven't registered for GST/HST, you don't need this. Etsy adds GST/HST at checkout for your Canadian buyers and sends it to the CRA itself. Not sure where you stand? Try the registration checker.
